I am a graduate researcher and associate lecturer at Lancaster University. My research focus is on interactive machine learning, specifically contextual bandit problems. I am a fan of the Eurovision Song Contest and my favourite animal is the humble housecat. I own two cats called Mochi and Alfie.
Firstly, I am interested in offline evaluation of contextual bandit policies. This problem occurs when one wishes to evaluate a new contextual bandit policy using data generated from another policy. Secondly, I am interested in algorithms for contextual bandit problems under some changing environment.
I have taught over all years of Lancaster's mathematics programme. In 2020 I gained the status of assosciate fellow of the higher education academy. I am also interested in outreach. In the past, I have presented elements of mathematics and statistics in high schools and colleges. I often explore the maths behind fake cats and the multi-armed bandit problem.
This is a work in progress. I will place papers here once they are camera ready. If you're interested in my writing then please check out my data science blog.
